Title: Senior Visual Designer

Favorite Quote: Luck is the Friend of Movement
What does your usual workday tend to look like?
I’m a morning person, so I like to wake up early and walk my dogs or meditate a bit to get myself in the right headspace for the day. I’ll start by going through my to-do list (I’m a big agenda girl!) and organizing all my tasks. Right now, I am working with a big Pharma client, designing social media posts, invitations to clinical trials, guides, brochures, and anything else they need as part of their overall strategy. I create some animated videos, so I develop a lot of storyboards and create and modify each asset for different platforms and placements.
How would you describe your job to a bunch of kindergarteners?
We design and create images/videos for companies in healthcare.
What are your previous experiences in the industry?
I’ve been a graphic designer ever since I finished high school! I started at an advertising agency and continued to get experience with a variety of teams working in the hospitality and restaurant industries, which I absolutely loved! I’m a very creative designer, and that’s what led me to Pharma and Assemble. It’s my goal to make advertising in this industry much more creative!
What do you love about working for Assemble?
I love how valued Assemble makes you feel. You truly feel like you are part of a team, but are respected as an individual and the unique experiences and perspective you bring to the table.
And our team is the best. There’s never any negative energy and everyone is always willing to help. We are relaxed and friendly, but driven and focused. It really sets the tone for the entire culture we have here.
What is the best project you’ve ever worked on? Why?
I had the opportunity to work on the entire branding and production for a music festival in Costa Rica — from the logo and the signage all over the event to all the merchandise and wristbands. It was such a cool project. And while it was a lot of work, it was so rewarding in the end to see everyone walking around the festival in your designs!
What motivates you professionally?
I believe you can solve anything with creativity, so I step into every project with that being my goal. I love being a problem solver to not only create pretty designs, but also ones that give the clients what they need. And that means being up to date with the trends and new applications and that means staying in touch with the latest trends and new applications to be as fast and efficient as possible too!
What’s one thing about you that surprises people?
I think at first, I can seem pretty serious or tough, but I’m a sweet cupcake on the inside! I’m always crying at movies, and I have such a soft spot for animals. I would rescue them all if I could.
What are your favorite things to do in your free time?
I love to cook! I’m always cooking meals for my family, but breakfast and desserts are my specialties! I’ll try new recipes and trendy ingredients that I find online, and enjoy seeing what I come up with.
My boyfriend and I also have two dogs, Maya and Antonia, that we rescued, and they are definitely spoiled! We love taking them to the mountains or the beach and just spend a lot of time outside together.
What’s one thing you could talk about for hours?
My dogs! I just love them to death!
I have also really gotten into Existentialism — the concept of being present in the moment. From sounds to smells to all the senses, I try to focus on what is going on around me. This has become a topic I really enjoy talking about because I think it’s something not a lot of people think about. Too many of us are just living so fast and going through the motions each and every day that they don’t stop to enjoy what’s happening right now.
Who is someone you really admire? Why?
A lot of people, honestly! My mother is extremely important to me, and has always been a role model in my life. I am also a big sports fan, so have my idols, specifically in tennis and soccer! Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Lionel Messi, and Diego Maradona — all of these people are legends in their game, but I admire their personality and values even more than their skills. They continue to work hard and never stop striving to be better.
And that’s also why I admire myself! I am actively working on trying to be better in every aspect of my life — professionally and personally. And that is not something a lot of people are willing to do!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I would love to be in Iceland with my dogs, just working remotely and enjoying life. I hope to be more aware and mature, enjoying margaritas and being happy!
Fun Fact: I tried living in the US but only made it a year. But I don’t regret it because it was an experience I had to have to really appreciate my own country and learn to love it! Costa Rica just has such a special vibe that no one else can match!
